Revenue Collection Officer 2s (RCO2) collect individual, business, and other government debts. They are responsible for: + Providing assistance to customers and their representatives regarding Minnesota tax laws and collection of tax and non-tax debts through incoming and outgoing calls, letters, and emails. + Researching customers and businesses and resolving debts of varying complexity through customer outreach and enforced collection techniques. + Effectively negotiating reasonable payment terms and review for hardship and abatements. + Ensuring compliance with state tax filing requirements through voluntary or involuntary methods. + Effectively communicating and documenting customer contact and research. **Minimum Qualifications** + Two years of customer service experience, OR + A Bachelor’s degree plus one year of customer service experience, OR + An Associate degree plus 1.5 years of customer service experience, OR + An equivalent combination All applicants must also minimally meet these additional required qualifications: + Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Edge + Experience in conflict resolution + Experience in independent problem solving + Experience in collaborating with teams **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience providing customer service over the phone. + Experience in using multiple computer applications to complete job duties. + Ability to use effective verbal and written communication in a way that is easily understood by various audiences. + Experience with court record systems, county property record systems, or Secretary of State UCC filings. + Knowledge of income, sales, withholding, or corporate taxes, or knowledge of other government agency debt. + Ability to understand, apply, and explain laws, regulations, and procedural documents. + Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment. **Physical Requirements** Occasional moving of articles such as boxes, laptop computer, and home office equipment. **Additional Requirements** Prior to an offer of employment, a background check will be conducted.
