As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you would work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to improve residents' quality of life and ability to perform daily activities by assisting with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan. Here you’ll be given the opportunity to use and develop skills like problem-solving, communication, and creativity while delivering quality, holistic care as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). **Responsibilities** * Provides, monitors and records services to patients/residents with physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial impairments * Selects, implements, and modifies activities and interventions that are consistent with demonstrated competency levels and goals * Exchanges information with and provides documentation to the occupational therapist * Knowledgeable about the patient's/resident's targeted occupational therapy outcomes **Qualifications** Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure. Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist. When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred for GSS Facilities): Must also be certified through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). When applicable, may require valid driver's license. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
