Montevideo’s Dog Days of Summer

This wonderful event will take place in Smith Park in Montevideo. From 5-7 pm there will be vendors, exhibits and food, and at 5:45 the Dog Parade begins! There will be prizes for the best dog costume and the best owner/dog costume!

This event is inspired by the phrase “dog days of summer” which refer to the hot, sultry days of late summer. the old Farmer’s Almanac lists the traditional period of the Dog Days as the 40 days between July 3rd and August 11th, which coincides with the rising of Sirius, the dog star. In Montevideo, however, this will be a time to have fun and enjoy friendship with dogs and humans!
