Candle lite Trails: Lac qui Parle State Park

This is the second year of this event for Lac qui Parle State Park. The paths will be lit and open from 6:30 – 9 pm. Visitors can hike 1/2 mile on the lower campground road lit with candles to the historic WPA warming shelter. Once at the shelter, there will be ingredients for s’mores and hot chocolate. If there is enough snow for the ski trails to be groomed a loop of about 2/3 of a mile will be lit also. Visitors who want to ski the trails without lighting are encouraged to wear a head lamp and join us at the shelter afterwards. Staff will meet those visitor’s who want to walk together at 7 pm at the shop area on the west side of the park. Questions can be directed to the park office at 320-734-4450 prior to the end of the work day.
