Lac qui Parle Village & Cemetery

Formerly the village and planting place of Chief Wakamane (Spirit Walker) of the Wahpeton (People of the Leaf), Dakotas. The village numbered greater then 800 people prior to 1862. At one time it was a thriving prairie village and between 1871 and 1884 was the county seat of Lac qui Parle County.
