The City of Clarkfield is located in Southwest Minnesota within Yellow Medicine County. Nestled in the heart of the prairie, Clarkfield is a family friendly community with a big heart in Minnesota’s premier farming region. With a population of 863, the town of Clarkfield is nothing short of Minnesota nice. In the spring and summer, the streets are lined with flower baskets and the parks are full of vibrant, aromatic flowers. In the fall, the glow of Prairie Grain guides you into the city as semi trucks bustle in and out of the fields. In the winter, Clarkfield turns into a beautiful snow covered Minnesota town.
Outside of Clarkfield is Oraas Park,which is open to the public to use. It is home to lots of wildlife and especially beautiful bur oak trees. There’s a playground and a beautiful bridge over the creek, and the park has tent and RV campsites available.
Celebrate Clarkfield at Cardinal Days, which take place at the end of July every summer. With everything from a street dance to a car show, there’s something for everyone.
This beautiful park has lots of green space, a picnic shelter, and a variety of playground equipment for kids. It’s a great place to plan a day with family, or just stop by to play on the swings or build a snowman.
The City of Clarkfield has earned the nickname “Heart of the Prairie,” as it sits right in the middle of the prairie grassland that covers much of the western edge and southern Minnesota.
Made in the USA – Clarkfield Outdoors has continued to grow and reach wider markets since its start in 1983. At the beginning there were six employees and six patterns for clothing, today there are hundreds of patterns, 25 employees, and multiple product lines including hunting apparel, workwear, and accessories all with options for men, women, and children. They have made a big name for themselves, but no matter the size or quantity, everything is made right in Clarkfield!
