City of Kerkhoven

KMS Welcoming Event

This event was part of Welcoming Week celebration across the country!

The theme for 2022’s event was “Where We Belong.”

This event featured more than 30 local community organizations and civil services, as well as door prizes, popcorn, and more!

The event was an opportunity to lift up the values that unite the community as neighbors, parents, and colleagues to make the community more welcoming.

It is a time when a chorus of people from around the world, in communities large and small, rural and urban, celebrate the benefits of an inclusive society.

KMS School District

Great education is available in Kerkhoven through the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (KMS) Public School District. The elementary school is located in Murdock and the Junior High and High School is located in Kerkhoven.

KMS takes pride in it’s student-centered education. With it’s caring staff, KMS helps students explore opportunities and realize their potential.

The Kerkhoven Golf Club

The Kerkhoven Golf Club is a beautiful nine hole golf course located right on the edge of town right along Highway 12. The course is great for golfers of all levels.

Sweets is a famous ice cream shop in Kerkhoven! This cute spot is not lacking in character or ice cream options. They offer a variety of flavors in in the form of shakes, malts, and more!

Pillsbury Pool

Pillsbury Pool is a great community pool, open June through August. They offer swimming lessons, family events, and a tasty concession stand.

Riverview Dairy

Riverview Dairy was the first dairy built in Swift County, and has since developed three more dairies in the county. The company is driven by innovative ideas and passionate about developing people, while utilizing state-of-the-art technology. They offer guided tours and education to local schools.

Monson Lake State Park

Kerkhoven is located just 13 miles away from the beautiful Monson Lake State Park! Go fishing, bird watching, kayaking, hiking, or enjoy the quiet campground and picnic area.
