Lac qui Parle Mission Open House

Join us for an open house on April 28th! The Lac qui Parle Mission, which overlooks the “Lake that Speaks” began in 1835 by the Congregational and Presbyterian ministries. The mission is home to the first church bell of Minnesota. See exhibits and artifacts that tell of the Dakota, and the role missionaries played in the development of the written Dakota alphabet and the translation of the Bible into the Dakota language.
