Nova-Tech Engineering  has a full-time opportunity for a Technical Writer.   The Nova-Tech technical writer creates a variety of technical procedures, manuals, and business process documents for a wide range of uses. The technical writer participates in documentation projects, creates or contributes to style guides, and may lead and mentor less experienced writers.   About Us:   Nova-Tech Engineering was founded in 1992 and began as one person's passion to benefit the agricultural industry. We hire technically passionate, positive, career minded individuals who align with our core organizational values.   Summary of Core Responsibilities:   + Create clear and concise technical documentation and multimedia for technical and non-technical personnel, such as assembly and repair instructions, user manuals, installation guides, and standard operating procedures and policies. + Independently interview and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content. + Organize material and complete assignments according to company standards, templates, quality, and deadlines. + Create and select visual media, including images and videos, to illustrate material. + Follow established procedures for document updates. + Support written communications and process submitted deliverables for formatting, presentation support, and with standard document templates. + Promote continuous improvement culture. + Demonstrate self-leadership and self-management of priorities to achieve project objectives. + Follow and enforce company policies and procedures related to biosecurity, animal welfare, workplace safety, and all regulatory requirements. + Embrace Nova-Tech Engineering Pillars: Quality is My Responsibility, Justified Autonomy, Entrepreneurial Behavior, Agile Framework, Flat Organization, Career & Growth.   The Ideal Candidate Skills and Experience:   + 1-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area + Previous experience in electromechanical equipment manufacturing desirable + BS or BA degree from an accredited institution in English, journalism, or technical writing, or equivalent experience, desired + Excellent English listening, verbal, and written communication skills: editing, grammar, style, spelling, punctuation, proofreading skills, etc. + Strong knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio), Adobe or equivalent publishing software + Strong knowledge and skills with image and video editing software, such as Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent + Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics + Experience with SolidWorks Composer software or equivalent, desired + Excellent interpersonal skills + Self-motivated with good time management skills and the ability to prioritize and problem-solve independently + Demonstrated attention to detail and focus on quality + Knowledge of web publishing tools desired + Ability to successfully participate on product teams and work toward achieving the objectives of the product + Ability to successfully handle multiple demands simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment + Interest or skills in single-source documentation, structured content, or DITA + Willing to work in agricultural environments to develop products + Ability to read and interpret company policies and procedures + Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner, exhibiting sound business judgment + Available and willing to travel as needed + Available for an extended workday   Work Environment:   + Considerable computer work in an office environment + While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical tools and parts, and sources of electrical energy typically ranging from 5VDC to 480VAC + The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrations in a manufacturing environment + Hands may be exposed to metals, oils, solvents, adhesives, and cleaning agents. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, reach, perform repetitive motions, sit, stand, move about, hear, and speak. Employee will be required to perform extensive work at a computer display terminal and also work in a lab setting. + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. + The position may require travel to hatchery/farm/customer sites around the world.
