We are seeking the ideal fit to join our team as our Feed Mill Supervisor! Farm Service Elevator produces feed for growers in the Willmar area. It currently processes 6 million bushels of corn a year. The Feed Mill Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the Feed Mill. This position reports to our Mill Superintendent and is located in Willmar, MN. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Schedule employee shifts. + Oversee daily production and deliveries. + Manage, count, and reconcile inventory. + Oversee ingredient inventory by proactively communicating with Production Lead to ensure adequate supply of ingredients are on hand. + Ensure SQF program and SOPs are being followed correctly. + Participate on SQF team + Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed. + Lead Safety committee + Ensure work areas are clean. + Evaluate employee and equipment production. + Evaluate time cards, labor, and overtime. + Assist and advise the plant manager in personnel decisions such as hiring, employee development, discipline, and conflict resolution. + Review quality assurance results and respond appropriately. + Train new employees in Feed Mill operations and maintenance. + Implement new technology or processes for improvements. + Oversee scale operations + Oversee maintenance and scheduled shutdowns. + Oversee grain terminal operations + Works in compliance with all company policy, along with all local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations; + Ensure all Farm Service Elevator safety and quality standards are met + Actively and positively upholds FSE Safety Culture by contributing to safety for yourself, our team, and our customers + Core working hours: 7:00am – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, on call 24/7 is required + Performing other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have the following educational and experience background: Experience Minimum Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED. Applicable Licensing (Special Boiler, HACCP) + 3-5 years of work experience in one or more of the following roles; Mill Operator or Maintenance Preferred Qualifications + Associates degree in agriculture, business, or related field. Applicable Licensing (Special Boiler, HACCP) + 5-10 years of work experience in at least two of the following roles; Mill Operator or Maintenance. + Supervisory experience Knowledge + Knowledge of Feed Mill operations including applicable SQF requirements; + Knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs; + Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines related to maintenance work, including forklift operation, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, etc. Skills + Communications skills to effectively work with and interact with a variety of people, supervisors, employees and departments + Time management and organizational skills + Customer service orientation + Strong work ethic and positive demeanor + Problem solving skills + Skill in operating forklift, skid loader, and pay loader + General skills using MS products (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook) and a basic understanding of computer hardware Abilities + Strong ability to troubleshoot feed mill issues related to electrical, computer, conveyors, pneumatics, and compressors + Ability to exhibit sound business judgment, be decisive, flexible, and have determination + Ability to read, interpret, and apply relevant regulations and legislation and company policies and procedures + Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal & written instructions in English + Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others + Ability to work under pressure + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment + Ability to work independently, under limited supervision + Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality + Ability to work weekends and nights, on occasion + Ability to lift 60 pounds, occasional bending and lifting required + Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time Our Purpose is to supply safe, quality feed to provide opportunities for the success of our team members and customers.
