This position exists to plan, develop, manage and coordinate the operation of the regional Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in accordance with the goals and objectives of the State Office at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (MN DEED) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) requirements. Responsibilities include administrative operations, budget management, program and small business advocacy, and overseeing small business counseling and training. This position requires a broad base of business knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. Local and overnight travel is required. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree – prefer business, finance or accounting field. + Minimum of 5 years of business management, finance or accounting experience. + Business consulting experience. + Knowledge in marketing, accounting or finance concepts. + Experience in spreadsheet applications, computer usage, and computer financial analysis. + Strong management and administrative skills along with demonstrated competence in oral and written communications. + Ability to work well with others and under deadlines. + Demonstrated ability to prioritize and delegate to get things accomplished. + Manage multiple projects and priorities. + Valid driver’s license to travel in state and/or privately owned vehicles while engaged in official business. **Preferred Qualifications** + Masters of Business Administration + In-depth working knowledge of the SBDC program operation, administration and fiscal management, and detailed knowledge of SBA loan programs + Economic Development Finance Specialist certification through the National Development Council + Certified Exit Planning Advisor certification through the Exit Planning Institute + Certified in Export and Trade Counseling + Prior business management or ownership + In-depth knowledge of marketing, accounting or finance concepts **Additional Requirements** In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
