Make-and-take snowshoe workshop at Lac qui Parle State Park
Learn how to lace a pair of Ojibwe (pointed end) style snowshoes to help you enjoy Minnesota’s winters. During this two day workshop at Lac qui Parle State Park, presenters will teach attendees how to weave the laces on pre-built wooden snowshoe frames. The class will be held on Saturday, February 24th from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 25th from 10 am to 2 p.m.
The $80 registration fee includes the snowshoe kit and materials. Lunch will not be provided, so attendees should bring a sack lunch.
Class size is limited to 20 people and advance registration and payment is required so that the appropriate quantities and sizes of snowshoe kits may be ordered. Registration deadline is February 1. Questions can be directed to the park office at (320) 734-4450 ext 222 or e-mail Chris at [email protected]. The $80 payment for the snowshoe materials will be required at the time of registration. If a participant cancels from the class after the snowshoe kits are ordered, the kit is owned by the participant and no refund is given.
The workshop will be held in the Lac qui Parle DNR Headquarters, education center at 14047 20th Street NW, Watson, MN 56295.
