Quietly Beautiful - Wildly Connected
Introduction to Chip Carving with Joe Hauger, 9:00-4:00. In this class students will be chip carving a product called EZ Board. Chip carving involves taking small chips out of a flat piece of wood to make a geometric design, and is one of the easiest forms of wood-carving for beginners to try. In this class, students will learn knife sharpening, will work on a practice EZ Board to learn basic chip carving cuts, and will have the opportunity to finish a small project, such as a coaster or Christmas ornament, to take home. No prior woodcarving experience needed.
Class tuition: $25. Materials for purchase from instructor: $25 (includes chip carving knife, practice board, and finished piece. Need not purchase knife if you already have one). Minimum 3 students, maximum 6 students.
