Quietly Beautiful - Wildly Connected
The 2017 Spoon Gathering is shaping up to be another full 3 days of carving, demonstrations, presentations, workshops and activities. For 2017 we have put together a diverse schedule of artists. Demonstrations include; kolrosing, fan birds, kuksa carving, wood sheath making, sharpening and spoon blank harvesting and roughing out. Saturday 10am – 5pm is a exhibition of Spoon Gathering founder, Frank Foltz’s, finest spoons. Evening events have been expanded to include Show and Tell and a Saturday evening presentation by Fred Livesay.
Improvements for this year include a second larger 30′ x 45′ tent to be located to the south of the shelter in Burns Park. This will roughly quadruple the area under tent for the gathering and give us more options in the event of poor weather.
Electricity has been connected to the Burns park shelter.
The school has also acquired a much larger bandsaw for Del Stubbs demonstration on “Roughing out blanks on a bandsaw”.
Please contact the school if you have any questions.
Registration for the event is possible by contacting the school or at our website www.milanvillageartsschool.org. Click on “Spoon Gathering Registration” on the homepage. Tickets are limited. Full event ticket prices are still only $30 for and individual and $45 for a couple of family.
