Join artist, Melanie Gabbert-Gatchell as she guides participants as they work with alcohol inks on black tiles. Creating scenes, whether it is flowers, snowy landscapes, or bursts of color, on black tile is challenging because the colored alcohol inks alone will not show up on black tile. This class will challenge students in exploring and learning how to combine inks to create images on black tile.
We will again be working with canned air. We will also be using paint brushes, alcohol ink markers and other tools to create unique pieces. This class is more challenging.
Class is Saturday, April 8th starting at 10:00am at the K.K. Berge Gallery in beautiful downtown Granite Falls by the walking bridge.
Cost is $30/ person and all supplies will be provided to make 1 tile painting (more tiles will be available to create at an additional cost depending on the tile size). Participants should wear an apron or old clothes as the alcohol inks could stain your clothes.
NOTE: All classes require pre-payment to reserve space in the class and to purchase supplies. Sign up for all classes at the K.K. Berge Gallery, 320-564-4240. Registration deadline is one week prior to class. Late registrations must contact the artist directly for permission to enter the class.
Part of the proceeds go to the Granite Area Arts Council which provides many exhibits, classes and events for our community! This is a class for any level of experience, come have some fun!
